# Marina cost estimator

A marina berth costs the length of your boat times the rate per foot, times the number of nights or months, plus any other fees. Enter the figures from the marina's written quote to see the total and the cost for each night or month.

Use the tool on the [web page](https://yachtmarinaguide.fyi/tools/marina-cost-estimator). It works without JavaScript.

## How to use it

1. Enter length billed.
2. Enter rate per foot.
3. Enter number of nights or months.
4. Enter other fees for each night or month.
5. Enter one-time fees.
6. Enter tax rate.
7. Read the result.

## How it works

The berth cost is the length billed times the rate per foot times the number of nights or months. Other fees are the repeating fees times the number of periods, plus the one-time fees. Tax is the tax rate applied to the berth cost and the other fees together. The total is the sum of the three.

This tool does only arithmetic on the figures you enter. It holds no marina rates and does not look up any marina. Get the rate, the billed length, the fees and the tax from the marina in writing.

Some marinas may tax only some items, or bill extra charges that this tool does not list. Ask the marina for a full quote and compare it with this estimate.

> An estimate from the figures you enter. It is not a quote. Confirm all rates, fees and taxes with the marina.

## Questions

### Which length should I enter?

Enter the length the marina says it bills. Ask the marina if its quote does not say. A different length changes the berth cost.

### Can I use it for nightly and monthly rates?

Yes, but use one unit at a time. For a nightly rate, enter the number of nights and the fees for each night. For a monthly rate, enter the number of months and the fees for each month.

### Is this a quote?

No. It is a planning estimate from the figures you enter. Only the marina can give you a quote.
