## The exam
Each course ends with a scored exam. You must be signed in to take it. The Practitioner and Specialist exams also need an active membership.

## Question types
- Single choice: pick one answer.
- Multiple choice: pick every answer that applies.
- Scenario: read a short situation and answer the question about it.

## Before you start
Finish every lesson of the course first. The exam does not open until you do.

## Pass mark and attempts
Each course sets its own pass mark and its own limit on attempts. You pass when your score reaches the pass mark. [My Academy](/academy/my) shows how many attempts you have used.

## Question order
Each attempt has its own question order. The Academy saves the order when the attempt starts. If you reload the page, the order stays the same.

## Scoring
The Academy scores the exam by fixed rules. Each question has set correct answers. No person and no AI program grades your answers.

## After you pass
The Academy issues your certificate and emails you a link to it. It also appears on [My Academy](/academy/my). You see which answers were right and why after you pass, and after your last attempt.

## If you do not pass
Study the lessons and take the exam again while you have attempts left. Each attempt has a new question order. You cannot retake an exam you have passed. If you have no attempts left, email support@yachtmarinaguide.fyi. Name the course. You cannot reset attempts yourself.
