What a marina listing tells you

Marina basics for people who choose a berth. Lesson 1, 12 min.

This directory shows map records. Each record comes from OpenStreetMap, a map that contributors edit. A listing is not a review, a rating or an inspection.

Where the records come from

The snapshot of 2 November 2026 uses records tagged leisure=marina. The OpenStreetMap wiki describes that tag as a facility for mooring leisure yachts and motor boats. The search area runs from 25.2 to 27.8 degrees north and from 79.8 to 80.9 degrees west. It covers South Florida and the Treasure Coast.

The directory keeps named records that have a city tag. The snapshot gives 34 listings under 20 city names in Florida. Each listing links to its OpenStreetMap record.

The data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The credit line is "© OpenStreetMap contributors".

What a record can hold

A record has a name, an address and a map point. It can also have a website, a phone number and an email.

The OpenStreetMap wiki lists optional tags that mappers use with marinas. Examples are capacity, fee, power_supply and sanitary_dump_station. The wiki also points to the vhf tag for the radio channel. Most records here do not carry these tags. In the snapshot, 32 of the 34 listings have a website and 25 have a phone number. One listing records amenities. One listing records a VHF channel.

A blank field is not a "no"

A blank field means the source did not give that detail. It does not mean that the marina lacks the service. The map can also be out of date, and it may not show every marina in the area.

What the directory does not do

The directory does not book berths. It does not verify services. A listing does not mean that Yacht Marina Guide recommends or represents the marina.

Contact the marina. Ask about access, berth availability, vessel limits, services and fees.
